We will be performing essential maintenance on Shared Windows Server 21, which hosts a web site / domain name under your account.

This will take place on Tuesday 14th May 2024 at 730PM (1930 BST)

During this window, we will be upgrading the MySQL Database server on the machine from 5.7 to 8.3. MySQL 8.3 offers improved security, performance, and manageability over 5.7, making it a preferable choice for modern database needs.

Please note the following

- The upgrade is only happening on Server 21 for now - we will be updating other servers on both Linux and Windows in due time.

- We have performed many checks and trials on mirrored development servers, and customers should not experience any issues after the upgrade completes.

- We will be performing a checkpoint on the web server, meaning we will be able to roll back if needs be.

- Once the upgrade has completed, it will not be possible to roll back to a previous database version.

- During this time, sites relying on MySQL database connectivity will not be available.

- Sites running Access or Microsoft SQL Databases will not be affected by this.

- We believe the process should not take longer than one hour to complete.
